Lauren Davis: About Me
|
My name is Lauren Davis. I attend Brewer High School in Fort Worth Texas and I will graduate the year of 2012. I started as our 2nd baseman my freshman year on our Lady Bears Varsity softball team. I currently play select ball with Texas Glory Gold 18U(Combs). I have been playing softball since I was 8 year old. I also play volleyball and basketball for my school but softball is my passion and I love being on the field. I realized my dedication and began planning my strategy when I was 14. My team Texas Fury traveled to Harlingen Texas and won the 2007 Pony Nationals. The Texas Extreme Gold 18u recruited me at the age of 15. I traveled with them to the Colorado Sparkler and the Las Vegas college look tournaments in 2009. With Glory I played in the Ronald McDonald College Look and both of the Plano College look tournaments in Plano Texas.
I am interested and extremely determined to play softball at the collegiate level. I began playing for 18U teams when I was 15yrs old. My primary position for my school team the Lady Bears is second base, for my select team, Glory Gold, I play short stop but I play a very strong 3rd basemen also. Ultimately I am capable of playing any position and being successful. One of my key assets is my throwing ability. At one of the last clinics I was clocked at 56mph.
I have the same determination in my academic goals. My specific academic interests are varied at this time and I hold an AB average so academics will be an equal consideration factor in choosing my school.
Off the field I enjoy spending time with God, my family and friends. I am a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes also.
